Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative disorder.CML accounts for approximately 15% of leukemia case. The pathogenesis of CML is the fusion of the ABL1 gene on chromosome 9 with the BCR gene on chromosome 22, which results in expression of an oncoprotein termed BCR-ABL1 (an isoform of Bcr-Abl).
