Trans-ferulic acid can promote the activation of AMPK and the phosphorylation of acetyl-CoA carboxylase in hyperglycemia-induced human liver cells (HepG2) and rat skeletal muscle cells (L6).Trans-ferulic acid reduces the level of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide (NO) induced by hyperglycemia and subsequently increases the level of glutathione.[2]
TFA exhibits a potential protective effect againstf cisplatin induced testicular injury by inhibiting oxidative stress as well as TLR4/IRF3/INF-γ, P38-MAPK/NF-κB-p65/TNF-α, and JAK1/STAT-3/ERK1/2 inflammatory signaling pathways.[2]
