Background

C12 NBD phytoceramide is a biologically active derivative of phytosphingosine that is tagged with a fluorescent C12 nitrobenzoxadiazole (C12 NBD) group. C12 NBD phytosphingosine has been used to study the metabolism of ceramides using microsomes expressing the S. cerevisiae diacylglycerol Lro1p.
