Background
Corticostatin is a corticostatic peptide that has been found in human granulocytes. It inhibits corticosterone production stimulated by adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) in rat adrenal cells (IC50 = 0.7 μM). Corticostatin also reduces mitogen-stimulated release of IFN-γ and IL-6 in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs).
