Carubicin is an anthracycline originally isolated from A. carminata that has anticancer activity.1,2 It is cytotoxic to MCF-7 and K562 cells (IC50s = 90 and 60 nM, respectively), as well as P-glycoprotein-expressing MCF-7/DOX and K562i/S9 cells (IC50s = 90 and 60 nM, respectively).1
