Background

(Z)-PUGNAc, is a potent O-GlcNAcase and β-hexosaminidase inhibitor with Ki values of 46 nM and 36 nM respectively^[1][2].

In vitro experiment displayed that the Z form of PUGNAc was vastly more potent an inhibitor of O-GlcNAcase than the E form^[1].
