Background

Tabersonine is an indole alkaloid that has been found in the beans of Voacanga.¹ It inhibits amyloid-β (1-42) (Aβ42) fibril formation and disintegrates preformed Aβ42 fibrils in vitro when used at a concentration of 10 μM. Tabersonine is an intermediate in the biosynthesis of vindoline, a precursor in the synthesis of anticancer agents.²
