Background

7-Xylosyltaxol is a taxane and derivative of paclitaxel that has been found in T. chinensis and has microtubule disruptor and anticancer activities.^1,2,3 It induces the disassembly of pig brain and Physarum microtubules in cell-free assays (IC₅₀s = 0.2 and 0.4 ?M, respectively).² 7-Xylosyltaxol inhibits proliferation of A549, MCF-7, A2780, HCT-8, and SW480 cancer cells with IC₅₀ values of 0.39, 0.16, 0.85, 5.9, and 5.6 ?M, respectively.³
