A phytotoxic fungal metabolite
Cyperine is a phytotoxic fungal metabolite that has been found in A. cypericola.1 It inhibits A. thaliana enoyl-acyl carrier protein reductase (ENR; IC50 = 89 μM).2 Cyperine induces necrosis in a panel of nine plant species in a leaf bioassay and inhibits root growth in A. thaliana seedlings (IC50 = 38.4 μM).3,2
