Background
Adenosine-5’-O-diphosphoribose phosphate (ADP-ribose phosphate) is an inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase and a derivative of the nucleotide sugar ADP-ribose that is phosphorylated at the 2’ position.1 It selectively inhibits rat liver microsomal HMG-CoA reductase in its non-allosteric form with apparent Ki values of 53 and 550 μM at high and low thiol concentrations, respectively, which are associated with its non-allosteric and allosteric forms.
