Background
Adenosine-5'-O-(3-thiotriphosphate) (ATPγS) is an agonist of the purinergic P2Y11 receptor.1 It induces inositol phosphate accumulation in CHO-K1 cells expressing the human or canine P2Y11 receptor (EC50s = 1.2 and 19.3 μM, respectively). ATPγS (10 μM) inhibits Junin virus-induced increases in mRNA encoding bone morphogenetic protein 6 (BMP6) and reduces particle forming units (PFUs) in Junin virus-infected primary rat osteoblasts.2 It induces insulin secretion by MIN6 pancreatic β-cells when used at a concentration of 25 μM.3
